went to visit granny two days back.
I was filled with sheer elation when i saw her and immediately exclaimed "GRANNYYY!!!"
then she came foward to embrace me.
We had lunch together, and talked and talked.
And again, she spoke about future,
about my marriage, my carrer, and everything.
and then we sank into a topic which hit a raw nerve.
granny mentioned about the father.
She reiterated over and over, "whatever happens, he's still your father"
and i told her, "Granny, i have no father."
Granny said sissy and i take after him in someways.
Like sissy has his stubborn streak,
and i, well i speak like him.
thinking about it, it truly is weird how the enitre family speaks differently.
and now i think i know why.
mummy studied in singapore,
the father, in aussie. But then again, does it really make a difference to the way we speak? |
